Introduction: Today we celebrate Labor Day, some of us are in our professional garbs, to thank God with a grateful heart for what he has done for his provision. Today also we initiate of Sunday School Emphasis Month. Remember the forms we gave you to fill. Officially it starts today.
Technology is on the increase, which is a blessing to all of us and to our world. But the greatest adverse effect is it hinders relationship. Relationship is the foundation for the growth, development, and advancement of every group, society or community.
Not too long ago when people have Birthdays, graduations, and special occasion, we take a trip down to the bookstore, or stationary store and purchase them a very nice card. On those cards, we are able to Penn down our sincere comments about that individual. Today we go to WHATSAPP, Messenger (FaceBook), and another interactive media to just jumble words.
Letter writing, sending a card, keeping a hard copy journal, and jotting down information for family and other occasions such as a calendar of activities and events, are fast moving away from us. Even people who are in a position of leadership in organizations, from governmental to churches when issued with AGENDAS, at the end of such meetings, you will find the paper or documents left on the tables or littered away along the vicinity.
It shows the slothful attitude that we are engaging ourselves into with any serious realization to what we are doing to ourselves. So what has this got to do with COMFORT? I am glad you ask. Everything. (Talk a little on that we Job Situation) No attention, just the money.
ESSENTIAL OF BEHAVIORS THAT ARE LACKING:
Why the lack of such behaviors is causing are cause a spiritual downsize. When we continue to neglect those areas and aspect that are people and self-related, what should connect us with our heavenly father also begins to wane. (DON’T RAISE YOUR HANDS), but how many of you have a consistent Bible reading lifestyle??? This is the reason for the Materials we are using at Sunday school now until December to encourage you to learn how to develop a relationship with God through HIS word.
IN VARIOUS COMMUNITIES:
In different communities or cultures, we have the acceptable norms through which people are consoled, encouraged and comforted. SET-UP (Comments), SYSTEM (Communicate), WORDS or TERMS (Acceptable), STRATEGIES (demonstrated), BEHAVIOR (Exposed). Likewise, with Spiritual matters, we are completely oblivious to what it takes to be consoled when we are going through a situation. Even when it is done the Biblical way, we do not grasp it because we are not akin to the conditions through which, and for what reasons biblical counseling or comfort is done.
DESCRIBING HOW IT WORKS:
When we get through some situations and we receive the comfort from God that comes from others, when others go through similar or their own situation, you will be there to console them for them to receive the comfort of God. I SHARED WITH THE CLASS ON FRIDAY King Solomon (Jakin) Amram married and had Jakin who became the grandmother of Bathsheba. Ancestor of Bathsheba 1 Kings 7:220-22 (Boaz) the ancestor of Naomi, Ruth who became the grandfather (Jethro) of King David. What a comfort to a King who had nothing to do with the sin of his Birth. Whenever people were approaching the temple area and the palace guess what, they look to the left and to the right, they cannot allow the terrible memory to permeate their minds because each of their families were involved in Murder rape scenario as they recollected Jakin’s What all the 12 tribes did to Bathsheba’s step-grandmother. King Solomon used both symbols to create influence and divert the attention of the people from the Sin of his parents and let them to remember that before God all the 12 tribes at one point in time RAPED an innocent woman and her husband her to cut her up into twelve parts as a reminder of the sin of the Israelites. It is that family that God has used to bring consolation and comfort to the entire NATION…
Similar condition with Jesus. The Bible says, Jesus did not sin but bore all our sins, yet we are still I the business of hiding our stuff and engaging in publicizing others making the blood of Jesus for sinner of no effect. When you approach anyone from now on see the two stones by them left saying SALVATION—Right saying FREELY. Then respect and comfort will not only come to you but to the entire community.
